Wedding season is here again. Your attendance has been requested. Dust off your finest, buy a well-wrapped gift, and slap on an optimistic smile.

Yes wedding season is here again...and for me too
May I ask you if you can give me an answer on this question Ed :
I am retired, just one month and want to immigrate to Hong Kong.
I have a girlfriend living in Hong Kong, she is born in China and is a Honk Kong citizen.
She has an apartment and a job in Hong Kong and I have a Belgian pension. We intend to marry as soon as possible when I arrive there.
Can somebody tell me what I have to do, to go and live in Hong Kong and what kind of documents I need to take with me.

Passport should be enough. If you are getting married, bring your birth certificate just to be on the safe side. Go to HK govt web-site www.gov.hk and look up data on getting married. It would be better to get married first then you can go to Hong Kong Immigration and get a HK ID card.

Thank you for your quick reply Lloyd,
If I understand you well, I can go to Hong Kong with a tousist visa, wich allows me to stay 90 day in HK, get married and than go to the HK immigration for an HK ID card?
ps I am not based in Hong Kong yet, I dont now how that appeared in my message .
