Absoutely bored. Can't help reading a few threads where "the guy" suddenly vanished. Speculations from other members are either:
1. did u sleep with him? gave him what he wanted then POOF!
2. did you not sleep with him hence he lost patience and POOF!
I accept possibility of question no.2. but question no.1? is that still valid? just for arguement sake, i can understand that concept 20 years ago. but now? is it still a "novelty"?
before someone attacks me on over liberated sexual relationships, please, this is not personal. it's anthropology! :-)

Show-n-tell, YES, I'm sure scenario #1 happens all the time... some guys love the HUNT. Its all about the chase, once they make the kill, they are quickly bored and move on.
...and how about possiblity #1a. you slept with him, it was BAD, he lost interest, and then POOF!

i mean if it's bad, likely i'll POOF before he does!

From an anthropological point of view.
There are many who think they are GIB, who demand the partner is GIB and in reality they are themselves not GIB. and POOF!
Another Q. Is the frequency/occurance of the scenarios listed connected with where the people first meet?

think not much to do with where they met, but occurs over a short period of seeing each other. no one's gonna wonder what happen to him / her after a ONS. although you'll be surprised given this time n age. it's easier to vanish when there are no mutual friends or other connections.

It sounds to me as if Show n Tell has had his fair share of poofs!

Was just a joke that clearly went over your head. sorry.

i know. :-) hey, i'm the responsible kind. the rare few who tell the guys sorry you're not my type instead of the instant POOF after seeing their pict in the email. well unless i think he's taking the piss outta me by sending me john carpenter's photo.

in a nutshell, there's such things called "he's-not-that-into-you".

which in those cases he's not into you enough to be interested to stick around. (no pun intended, hahahaha) or it's just the traits of some guys to lose interest once they've had a bite of their prey.
anyway, back to tigerbay's point. can we estb a pattern here where people who meet in bars / nightspots are likely to be potential poofers?

No.1 is still happening!
Nowadays, if sex was bad, there are more women who would rather go POOF. This is not solely a guy's prerogative anymore. So yes, it is still valid.

Nemesis - thanks, you're the only one that get's my peurile sense of humour.
Show N Tell - 'potential poofers'!!!! I think you'd better read up on the meaning of 'poof'.

ah.....poof....i prefer to refer to them as my sisters. i meant it more as in harry potter magic wand type of poof on this thread. i'm sure u know that.

Lol! It could also refer to a stuffed footcushion although I believe the spelling is 'pouf'.
