I find this hard to believe.. IMO the pro's of cohabiting far outweigh the cons.
It would be interesting to see some statistics on couples who didnt try out living together prior to marriage, instead, jumping foolishly into a marriage at a young age and finding out later that living with someone is very different to seeing them for a few hours on a week night or weekends...

"It could be that people who cohabitate prior to marriage are more liberal and are more likely to call it quits during rough times in a marriage"
people who quit during hard times are not called liberals, they are called quitters and some may like to call them losers.

I am with rob, personally I think cohabitate before marriage has more advantage than disadvantage....dating a person is so very different with living with a person 24/7...

I'm with madtown on this, totally...makes sense.
Syed's comment reminds me of how I used to joke about quitting when I was a smoker, "Winner never quit!"
*SMH* when you are in something toxic that can kill you, well, it makes sense to quit. The smoking analogy works well for toxic relationships too. Sorry, but its true. Calling someone a loser or a quitter doesn't make a crap relationship any better.

don't know how many people die from a bad relationship
but from smoking, you should know better, i have never been a smoker..
there is no chance of making things work in your favor in case of smoking, you are losing from your first puff onwards, but you can not say that about a relationship.
i did not say that you should never quit
but i certainly said that those people who quit early are certainly not called "liberal" .
no dictionary defines people who quit quickly as liberal.
