Hey there!
My partner & I are wanting to get married as soon as possible in HK, but we're a little confused on the correct procedures for registration.
Can anyone confirm if it's possible to just turn up at a registration office & give notice of marriage & once it has been displayed for 15 clear days, we can get married within the 3 month period?
I looked on the government website & it mentions that you can book an appointment online 14 days before a 3 month period preceding the date of marriage. Do you have to give the same amount of time, if you make an appointment directly with the registers office to give notice, eg: give 3mnths notice before the marriage date.
Also how much notice do we have to give a civil servant if we didn't go through a registrar at the registry office?
Be great to hear from anyone that has gotten married in HK.
Thanks! :)

hi there
you cant turn up at a registration office whenever you want. you gotta make an online appointment & inform them when you & your partner are available to visit marriage registration office. Go to govt website & make an appointment then within a week they will call you & reconfirm your appointment. once you go there you can inform them your intented date of marriage. all the best

Thanks so much for your reply 'Vanz_hk',
Would you happen to know if the intended date of marriage has to be 3 months from your appointment date, or can you set any date once the 15 clear days has been completed?

It has to be within 3 month or you have to start the process all over again. Once the 15 days is completed you can get married anytime

It's really easy to do; ring them and they'll talk you through it. No need to wait 3 months - as you say, once the 15 days have completed you can marry. Some days get full very quickly so check what's available and reserve your slot early.
