Has anyone used one? I am worried that my partner(who isn't living with me at the moment) may be out on the town and want to know.

Your call really. Two things can come out of using one:

1. They find out your right

2. They dont find anything

If its number 1 then you will argue, fuss and then perhaps finish.. If its number 2 your gunna wonder whether its really number 1.???

My advise is to tell him that you dont feel you can trust him and that things are so serious you are thinking of getting out.

Thanks. By the way, I am a man and my partner is a woman. Now, any recommendations as to who to use?

macchu needs a private investigator contact details instead of our comments on his relationship although I do agree with FOTH.

So if somebody knows it, pass it to macchu.

Nemesis, thanks. Not sure whether I'll go through with it, may well not. Pain and jealousy twist us right through the middle.

...that doth mock the meat it feeds on. Beware, my lord, of jealousy...

I am trying to talk with her; she won't respond and I think email is an inappropriate medium for this!

yeh Nemesis is right ...get it out in the open as to why you feel like this. Maybe she has some explanations for her actions that may ease your mind...in addition, just change 'his' to 'her' in the response above and bobs your uncle

Macchu - forgive me for asking but what is your situation with your partner?

Are you separated? Perhaps this is why she is being uncommunicative.

vulvic - yes, we separated a few months ago, but she calls me when she needs something. I can't go into the details as to why we split up, but it didn't involve infidelity on either side.

Are you hoping for a reconciliation or are you looking for closure? Before you look into hiring a PI it would be best to identify what your feelings are. Agree with an earlier post, if your partner discovers that you've had her followed it will put an end to any chance of reconciliation. However, if she refuses to talk to you I would understand why you'd choose this route.

Agree JC. However, if he is looking for grounds for divorce then a PI is one way of achieving that.

vulvic - your advice is great. I do want to try for a reconciliation, but I'm worried about whether this is possible or whether she wants to try for it. But I'm convinced that a PI is a silly and in this case wrong thing to do. I'm not going to do it.

Macchu, thankyou. I think you have also made a wise decision. Perhaps things are still too raw and that is why she is unwilling to talk. Let her know that you are there for her when she is ready and try to be patient. Also spend some time considering the possibility that you may not be able to reconcile. This will be very painful but I believe it is best to prepare yourself for every eventuality. Good luck.
