i have been longing for having a child but my husband and i will separate. is it a bad and selfish idea to bring a baby to this world if one knows the baby will be born without a father? what is the psychological mpact on the kid even if the mother loves him very much? psychologically, what should a mother do and prepare?

no problem financially. the only concern is, will the kid be an unahppy kid if he knows parents are separated before he is born.

hope someone can give me advice

i dont expect him to take care of the son. my only concern is whether the kid will be very unhappy if he is born without a father. i will definitely devote myself to the kid.

well the answer would also depend on your situation.

are you already pregnant or not?

if not.. well obviously don't consider making a child knowing you are getting separated from his father..

rather consider adoption indeed

then.. should you already be pregnant... the answer would obviously be completely different..


as whether a child would be unhappy without father..

you could get 1000 of different stories.. and unfortunately a child can be unhappy with his 2 parents so if that would be so simple..

but for sure, yes and despite all the love a mother can give, nothing would ever replace the father figure and the father would always be missed in a certain measure..

a child needs a mother and father's love. a child doesnt need a mother's and father's love at the same time or together.


if you both agree to have a child and live separate lives, it's fine, just make sure the child get the love needed from mom and dad - at separate times.


research has shown that some kids from divorced couples are happier because they get a lot of love from each parent.
