Of course you can tell, if you love them and have faith in your love for them. It is something so bloody minor!!

Just tell your partner in a caring & loving way. So instead of saying you smell awful, tell him/her that the smell of the whatever bothers you a lot and suggest that you two go shopping for personal care products together to pick out the ones you both are pleased with.

The point is to NOT to make it a personal problem. Because it's not him/her. It's the product with the foul smell.

I remember at school doing a science experiement where it was a proven fact that people smell things really differently - there is a flower for example that people either love or hate and it is a really strong smell one way or the other so maybe this is the case you hate it but to them it smells completely different.

Don't recomend you take the 'this will make you look younger' approach as that could be considered offensive on a whole other level.

I would just be honest without being brutal. ie: For some reason I really don't like the smell of that cream. Do you think we could see if there is another one that does the same thing.

Personally I like lavendar - Elizabeth Arden has a nice night cream and Johnson and Johnson has an all over moisturiser - both pretty cheap. With so many creams out there there has to be one they would like.

Good luck

Smell is very subjective.

Some people like durian.

I like Chow Tofu.

I agree with the last poster. Tell him you don't like the smell of that cream, and ask whether there's an alternative he could use.

Not legal? Or shouldn't be?

That just doesn't make sense. Unless it's a classified illegal drug (and hemp is not) or if it's from an endangered animal, it's legal.

It could be made from bulls testicles - legal. Deer antler - legal. Dung beetles - legal. Hamster poop - legal.

I don't really get why you wouldn't mention what it is unless you're trying to pull our legs.

And what's his excuse for "needing" this particular formula so much?

Ummm why does he need to use that strange cream? I don't want to sound negative, but is there any case he might be suffering from some kind of disease that he HAS to use it? Me personally am very sensitive to smell as well, but luckily my bf is not that picky.

Good luck!

tell him that he smells, its not fair on you or anyone else around him- he will be more embarassed if he finds out later from someone else, best to hear it from someone who loves him. FACT.

get rid of it and tell him you read in the press somewhere that the cream is deemed unsafe as it contains toxins and offer to buy him some more fragant cream.

problem solved.

Hey, my friend bought some tablets from the pharmacy to help clear his cough and when he read the ingredients, found out it was made from ground earthworm and human placenta.

Needless to say, his cough suddenly seemed fine. haha
