I would like to hear from caucasian and asian man on this as i think their opinions may vary. I know when you talk to guys on this subject they would always say that they prefer gals to be natural and so hence no make up is fine by them but i wonder if that is really the case. Also, does it differ with age group ?

i think it depends on the guys, I had an american boyfirend who insisted me wearing make up even when we were on the beach for a swim, but most of my other boyfriends prefer less make up on me..

As a local HK woman, i prefer to have some basic make up on me...which can further enhance my confidence and to be honest y not to be much prettier in front of ppl.. Of cox sometimes make up should come w/ yr dressing. So it's just a way to present yrself only. Not a big deal at all. How abt man wearing the make up on the face? Is it strange? not really i think...

Makeup should enhance what is already there, if she is already pretty a touch of make up to enhance the features is bliss, on the other hand a thick layer of makeup to hide her defects is not going to help , it will simply say "I'm putting this thick layer of makeup to hide my defects"

I don't understand how a thick layer of makeup stays put in this environment - assuming the wearer leaves air-conned interiors ocassionally. why doesn't it smudge and slip in the sweaty humidity?

slips like landslide, believe me. that's why those ppl with heavy makeup don't go out to lunch/leave air-cond-ed places. :P

A bit of make-up is good, a lot is bad. However, I have a real pet peave with the hundreds of whitening products on the market. Bleaching your skin to look paler just sounds a bit too 'Micheal Jackson' to me.

I have seen some very scarey sights around town - women of a certain age after using these whitening masks look almost cadaverous. What is wrong with getting a bit of colour in your cheeks? I don't mean lying out in the sun and getting a tan, just a bit of healthy colour.

I'm with Leon99, typos and all.

Natural is best - even older women can look really great with minimal makeup.

Perfume can be a problem - even some guys leave a vapour trail measured in minutes - would make the night ladies in Mongkok proud.

I always wonder that if guys will be pissed off to hear his girl creaming 'you ruined my lipstick' when he is in process of kissing her passionately.

No preference, hate too much make up though, but too much anything is just a definition which means 'too much' so doesn't really mean anything in this case.

Just like people who don't need to put on a face every morning to go to the shops.

When a woman has lovely skin the worst thing they can do is cover it with make-up. Something younger girls whether western or asian do frequently. Just a little make up please, if you have beautiful eyes then accentuate them, show them off. No need for the full redecoration job though, it's just so off-putting!!

I prefer a natural look and don't like make up at all.

Very dependant on the man. Some men like the natural look...and that is what I have encountered more often than not. SOME men seem to think that the more make-up, the more maintenence a girl could be. NOT meaning to make generalizations, but this is what my male mates have said.

I don't wear make up normally. Only if go for formal event like wedding dinner, then I would wear make up (maybe). Sometimes I would use lip gloss. Just be ourselves and do what we feel great.

Sometimes, I joke about that no worry to scare my guy when just awake. As I always no wear make up, if he would be scared, the first time he met me already scared away and no worry. hehehee......

My ex bf thought nearly all the girls wear make up so when he met me, he thought that's impossible to have a girl no make up. That's pretty funny.

I am not a pretty girl but I feel nice without make up. The time when I wear make up, always worry is that too much or too strange, etc. Maybe just my lazy excuse. hehehe....
