What do you think are advantages and disadvantages of a romantic relationship over a true friendship? And is it normal to think of it before making the decision as to whether or not to be in a relationship with someone?

Why do they have to be mutually exclusive? I think a relationship is the BEST friendship, plus the bonus of being physically intimate.
A friendship is everything but the sex.
Is it normal to think about which way to go... yeah, but if you're thinking about it, the chemstry isn't that strong. If it's a great relationship, you don't control your thoughts, they control you!

Hmmm firndship is not everything but the sex...how about the deep commitment ...sure you will be committed to your friends...but the commitment with a loved one...is different...more serious somehow...
