what do you mean by how will it work out?

Are you talking about your relationship, or juggling the paperwork?

While I understand your predicament and limitations, I find it demeaning that men would actually employ their gfs as maids.

Perhaps it's legally 'easier', it still seems strange and demeaning. If he's serious about you, I am sure there are other legal avenues for you to remain in Hong Kong. Like fiancee visa or something?

Women in your position are often exploited as you are vulnerable.

Unless you have some pretty impressive qualifications and experience, your chance of getting a job as anything other than a DH (which is what I assume your boyfriend is employing you as) is zero. Sorry to be so blunt, but that's how it is.

An employer can only get a work visa for someone if they can't find a local who can do the job. So unless you fall into this category, you won't get a work visa, whether or not you tell any prospective employer about your situation.

So the answers to your questions are: 1) Yes, it would be illegal; 2) No, you won't get a proper employer; 3) Irrelevant whether you tell them or non, you still won't get a job.

The only (legal) way for you to live with your bf but be financially independent is to marry him, get a dependent visa (which gives you the right to work) and get a proper job.

An employer might be less likely to take you on legally if he/she knew you were trying very hard to get pregnant by your 57-y-o boyfriend.

sigh..sigh I guess you have it figured all out. Get pregnant 'accidentally'. Have you ever asked him if he's had a vasectomy? Prolly learnt from his previous experience.

dear balzac,

the problem with getting pregnant accidentally, is that most likely, he will leave.

that will leave her in a much more vulnerable position.

money problems, no work in hong kong, and a baby to look after.

if he was serious about her, he would buy her a ring and do the right thing.

the fact that he doesn't appear to be doing that would indicate to me that he is not serious enough to "take her home to meet the folks".

Island> Because on yet another thread this poster was looking for an employer! If any potential employer read all these threads from the same poster, do you honestly think they would be that keen to employ them? That is why I included the link to the thread on her TTC!

the key word here is IF he/she (employer) knew.

It's funny coz i've told my bf this thread too.. Worth a laugh and a sigh.

Cliveeann - do you think ur old dude is lookin for help too for not able to make you pregnant? Or it's just a one way street? I very much doubt it.

Yes this is HK..i still feel shixty when i go to Wanchai seeing all these old guys holding a(somtime 2) young girl(s) in their arms. Im like, what the x are they thinking? The funniest thing is that when i go to a place where is called "Chanta-j", always with maybe 6 girls and one gewlo man sitting together at the table. The whole time the guy's been left alone til the bill comes up.

What are these guys thinking? I somtimes wonder..

Well, it's not unheard of for a man to ditch his family and settle down with his domestic helper.

cliveeann1001, may I ask where your other two children are now? Are they living with you and your bf?

Reading cliveeann1001 messages looks like it's the bf's the one sending the messages and not the gf itself...
