I must not be the only one...what are the options for a recently single person over the holidays? Most of my friends (and a couple potential new beaus) are away, and the friends staying are with going to be their loved ones next weekend and NYE.

I'm an attractive, interesting and fairly outgoing female, but not into bars or that scene...any suggestions?

I spent the past 9 years travelling with boyfriends and stuff and I've gone a few trips with girlfriends only this year and I have to say I so love it and it's so much better fun...

i just got off the phone with one of my best girl friends - we are planning a wine tour of australia in 2006!!! new zealand too if i can get enough time off. am psyched to travel with a girl friend, i haven't done it since college, and you are all absolutely correct: those were some of the best trips of my life.

A wine tour is a great idea. I did one years ago in Margaret River (aus) with a b/f. Always wanted to go back with a big gang of people.

Am planning to get the family together for a holiday in NZ next year, perhaps we could knock over a few vineyards while we're there.

lovely! i've been dying to do one since some friends (husband & wife) did a margaret river tour years ago - they liked it so much they went back again literally two months later to do another region.

as for nz, well i am dying to see this magical land. my son went on a hiking trip with his dad some years ago and came back with the most incredible photos and memories. all i know of nz is their fantabulous sauvignon blancs and pinot noirs.

my dilemma at the moment is: i told my bf about our plans (me & my gf), and now HE wants to join us! as much as i love him to death, i was really looking forward to doing this with my gf. then again, as you say a big gang of people sounds like loads of fun, so perhaps if i turn it into that.... still - i was really looking forward to a girl-trip.

but we digress from this thread. <:-) i've posted over in travel/hotels for any advice you kind souls might have!

VoR - Speak to your g/f about inviting other peeps so that you have a gang of about 6. Otherwise if it is just going to be you and her and your b/f, many be rather uncomfortable for your friend. Perhaps your b/f could bring one of his mates along.

Yaeh, really looking forward to NZ. My brother lived there for a year and loved it. Thought it would be a great idea for him to meet up with old friends and for the rest of us to finally see teh place.
