An End of The Conversation Today

ORIGINAL POST

Not sure if I should post my story on Relationship column

Anyway...

You can tell from my name I'm not native an English speaker. Now I'm frustrated that did I make a grammatical mistake?

Guy : Men are pigs remember

Me : Yes I know. And there are only two kinds of men on earth.

Me : Honest men and dishonest men. Honest means a guy honestly tell you how many girls he slept with, dishonest means a guy dishonestly hides about how many girls he slept with

And then the guy was annoyed.

Guy : Your statements seem offensive as you generalised all men this way included me.

Me : I was not referring you?!

Guy : Maybe all the guys you met were bad but I'm not that kind of man blah blah blah

Anyway...

Finally we were both annoyed. The more we talked the more we got mad and I asked him to stop.

Me : Okay I never thought about you that way but I really don't want to debate anymore. It is an end of the conversation today.

Guy : Okay it can end anyway. Please delete all the pics we exchanged.

I just meant it was not good to further the conversation that day as we were both mad. Better not talk again untill we are really calm

As if he thought I was asking for split?!

i am getting so fed up with people so easily giving up their relationship these days?? it's just a conversation, so she said the wrong thing, big deal??? people will always see things differently, that doesn't mean they can't work on the relationship,

calm down everybody.

HE WAS THE ONE WHO ASKED FOR DELETING PICS NOT ME.

we like each other but we are not dating. and im not the only girls he likes. we both don't even know what will it be yet at all. my honest and dishonest theory, its what i realized from the guys i met AND i was not VERY serious to say that at all. my tone was like teasing and joking and hence i was a bit shocked about his reaction.

as we used to have very relax conversations most of the time...

im not in love with him and please dont judge me just becoz im not ABC or gwei mui. im not that kind of local girl!

have to add something

speaking of asking silly questions

i would not ask how to make a gweilo to fall for me

i would not ask why didnt the guy take me more serious after we slept

i would not ask why do men only want to have sex with me

in real i dont get mad for the guys who are tricky at all. been there. done that. i believe good guys are still out there. i experienced some bad relationships but i learnt that they were not really bad guys, just becoz i was not the one for them and they either.

i hope you guys get it

honkie, it sounds like he used your little online tiff as an excuse to drop you as a chat-buddy.

he probably realized you're just another slightly immature girl who espouses this theory that most men are dogs. it doesn't matter whether he agrees or not - he's probably just sick to death of hearing it - it's hardly the most original thought in the universe. he is also probably fed up with having to defend himself for his as-yet-uncommitted sins of dishonesty.

it really is truly annoying to be included in sweeping generalizations.

move on, and next time be clearer in your communication with others, especially online.

nah not met him online. i met him in person but he isn't living in HK. just comes here for business sometimes hence most of the time we communicate online when he is back to his country.

anyway im fine now. actually i just wanted to ask if the statement i said "it is the end of the conversation today" had misled him that i was going to split the friendship

im immature yes. i never said im mature.

anyway thank you.

i don't think if a man doesn't want to tell you how many girls he slept so far is dishonest. it kind of private things and it is his histroy which had happend before.

dishonest man more perfer to the guys who lie or cheat to you at present.

Although the conversation you described does strike me as rather juvenile and certainly not worth mulling over for much longer, how did you actually get on to the subject? I mean, what made him come kick off with the statement, " All men are pigs, remember" and then knock YOU for generalising?

BTW, I know I'll get flack for saying this, but honkie shouldn't have to defend herself against the one or two people who clearly didn't bother to read the original post properly. Maybe we need to dust down our Basic English Comprehension textbooks and do some revision before firing off responses suggesting major character improvements ;)

Why do the most innocuous questions turn into blistering personal attacks?

Sounds like a silly comment that was taken the wrong way and blown totally out of proportion. Why aren't people attacking the guy for saying all men are pigs? Is this not a sweeping generalisation that was followed by Honkie's.

Honkie, the guy sounds belligerent and over-sensitive, you're well rid of him.

honkie: back to your original question

". It is an end of the conversation today." you could've said "lets end the conversation here"

but altho grammatically wrong, I can still understand what you meant. Your chat buddy was just tiffed off about your comments.
