Getting married in the UK

Hi all

I'm hoping that you could give me some important advice on here.

My fiance and I were used to live in the UK and have relocated back to HK recently. We're planning to register our marriage/have our wedding in the UK.

He's a British citizen, while I'm a HK citizen with a HK passport only.

I've gathered that we'll have to give in a notice beforehand, what I'm very confused is that if I have to apply for any particular type of visa before I enter the UK for the wedding or if my visa free HK passport (6 months granted for visitor) will do for that?

I've been to many different sources to try obtain some relevant infos, but still on pending for a definite answer.

Much appreciated if any of you could provide me with some very useful info!

Cheers!

My wife (PRC) married me (UK citizen), in the UK, when she had a student visa. This was 8 years ago. However, this does not mean she got automatic citizenship or leave to stay.

It may have changed, but I doubt it changed much.
