casual.

He is just self destructive.Just has to realise that he really isn't above it all. People aren't perfect, and sometimes they are just as messed up as he.

Don't know why some people are so preoccupied with branding women as 'easy' or 'cheap'. My dad was one such person.Ironically he was a womaniser.

So, if you notice, such men are self-loathing creatures. By criticising the women he associates with, he is indirectly taking a swipe at himself

There always take 2 to tango. This sort of stories always happens in places like Hong Kong.

Many guys are defensive and many girls are low-self esteem.

He sounds like a very bitter, messed up man to me.

My advice would be to steer clear of him. As for him calling you easy, who is he to judge?? So you slept with him, big whoop! He slept with you too.

Tinja, why are you putting this out?

What credibility does it give you?

The guy definately needs a shrink and I do doubt about his profile as somebody from loverville.

Tinja, same question, what's your point?

So the guy's a bit cuckoo and you slept with him. Why share his blog?

tinja> well if he can write it in the bolg, that means he want to let people know, so why not show us his URL, so we can have a look? Anyway, he did not post your picture there right?

Well, think he do not mind people know how "invulnerable" he is to the "easy" girls he claimed.hahahaha

Oh, just the general tone of the mail. And the double standards, that still exist in Australia: he's right and it's his right, she's not right, never will be and on top of that she's nothing. Misogynism in Australia is well alive! You don't act how you want to act, you act how he wants you to act, until he gets sick of you!

I'm not bitter, just observant.

Misogynism is alive and well in many countries, Matches. I don't think singling out Australia (and America?) with sweeping generalisations contributes in any way to this debate.

And yes, I am Australian. With many wonderful, non misogynistic and Australian male family members and friends.

Well that's what generalisations are for. It's important that people are kept aware that mysogynism is alive and well and that it affects half the world.

If not, they might think the views reflected in the above email are 'a normal response from a male to a female.'

I come from Australia as well, and the attitude sounded remarkably familiar to me.

It's no accident that the The Footy Show is prime time viewing in Australia...

I still fail to understand why you singled Australia out. I've lived in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Asia and have come across that type of attitude from men of all of those nationalities. I don't think that Australia is any more misogynistic than any of those places.

I know what you mean about the sexist attitude held by certain males in Australia. But painting the whole nation as a backward, sexist, anti female country is unfair, as well as just plain wrong.

Why don't you do what I do, Matches? Try associating yourself with forward thinking, non misogynistic, Australian men. Much more pleasant company.

Hi watergirl,

I didn't say everyone was like that, but I've seen a lot of it and having lived in countries like Sweden and Japan, as well as here it seems a bit of a joke, that whole 'if you can't keep your legs closed..' attitude of the parochial countries.

Each country has their own brand of the battle between the sexes I suppose.
