I am a Chinese American who is about to start working in Beijing this summer.
While the career opportunity excites me, I wonder where would be a good place to meet eligible and quality men to date and hopefully build a relationship with.
I have to admit that I am used to dating guys from US/Canada and feel easier to connect with them. Some men from Europe and Australia seem pretty cool as well. And I would be open to my local Chinese brothers if we are compatible, although somehow I think the chance for that is slim.
Anyway, are there many social settings for busy single professionals to mingle and tangle in Beijing?

I can tell you where not to go, but that would ruin half the fun of coming to Beijing.
In general Hou Hai is nice, but posh
San Li Tun used to be tacky but got cleaned up
Workers stadium is for the young (at heart)
That is all east-side of town and generally caters to those busy professionals as you described yourself, bars are pretty western with a Chinese tacky touch you either love or love to hate,as some.Men a plenty on Friday, Saturday but don't expect too much late night partying for that you will have to go local (karaoke places) or student area.
