If he's insisting it's a prank call, was the number registered? If he has nothing to hide, he won't mind the wife calling the number......

well in your post it says that the man returns home every Saturday evening to be with his family.

But this mysterious text comes late on a Sat night asking why he is not visiting that night.

So, considering he comes back to HK Saturday's then this mysterious texter couldn't know him too well then.

So it is a little plausible that it is not true, perhaps. Or it could be some woman he is trying to shake off him and is not even interested in. He is nOt necessarily having an affair. He would be silly to give his no. if married - too risky for him.

good point Tiger01, i will get further, is the said mobile a China one or a HK one?

if HK one, I would go for a spam/joke/prank: HKers working in China all have a mainland SIM, and would not use/give their HK number because of costs of roaming.

If the guilty mobile was a China one, both options are still opened...

don't over-react, lots of senarios. Just because he knows some other woman he hasn't mentioned does not really mean he is having an affair.

He probably knows her one would suspect, but may not be involved with her and denies any knowledge of her thinking that everyone would think the worst - you just don't know

True Daddy, but something in this DOES smack of a woman scorned, or at least not getting her own way! My hunch is that Mainland Woman is trying to stir up trouble as she must know he has responsibilities in HK if he keeps returning there. I did have a similar situation happen to me many years ago, involving phone call, rather than text/SMS and it was never solved. I didn't "over-react" as Tiger puts it, but perhaps with hindsight I should've as 10 years have gone by and it still niggles that i don't know the truth.

PS I was told the "female stirring trouble" story, so perhaps I'm the mug!!!

In China, an affair can happen in 1 hour for man, it is the very true statistics for expat working in China. Very dangerous for their marraige.

While I agree China is hardly the best place for your spouse to work if it's marital bliss you're after, sometimes the job expects it. From a personal viewpoint, it is better to uproot the family and move there. On the other hand, it is fairly difficult to compartmentalise every man as being putty in these girls hands...if that was the case, then I'd suggest you keep an eye on him regardless of posting! Affairs happen all over the world and I do believe there are faithful men out there, mind you I do happen to believe in the yeti and sasquatch too.......

I was asleep with my wife and got a phone call at 3 AM. The lady told me she was coming to see me with my twin sons (10 years old). She told me they were conceived in Germany when I was there. However, I was not in Germany 10 years earlier, but 7 years earlier. So, I told her to come to visit or to check and make sure she had the right man. Then I told my wife. I wonder what the damage would have been if my wife had answered - she did not know when I was in Germany.

The lady never showed up.

Sometimes, people do call the wrong number.

Although i've been told that most if not all HK men have mistresses on the mainland (it's jsut the done thing) it does happen that you get wierd sms-es saying 'i missed you last night' or whatever. There's a lot of spam that get's sent around. I get messages on my phone that have nothing to do with anything....

If the guy lives near the factory for most of the week ... well that would be more reason to worry than a stupid message.

There are areas here where HK men have set up their mistresses..

and six months i'd say is pleeeeenty of time.

As for the women having loong fingernails, let's say the men aren't known for being reticent either.

i always think it's a bit cheeky when the woman get's blamed.
