Perhaps the problem is that you are looking for "Harlequin Romance-style" great sex, while he may be pining for "Marquis de Sade-style" great sex. I don't really mean that literally. "HR-style", though, would have you swept away by waves of pure physical pleasure, while "MdeS-style" would span a greater spectrum of physical and mental responses. My own experience is that the former, no matter how many positions you may try, always ends up being pretty much the same. With the latter, the variations are almost without limit.
