I understand that it takes 4-6 weeks, sometimes longer, to renew a work visa. I am just now finalising details of my next contract with a new employer but my visa expires in a few days. Can I renew my visa with a letter of offer instead of an employment contract? And will I automatically get a temporary visa extension while the renewal application is being processed? I don't want to overstay but I also don't want to get on a visitor visa as I am working towards my permanent ID. Any advice?
