I posted this in another forum with little success.
In the US I am pretty familiar with how to write a resume or "CV", but what are the differences in Hong Kong? I have heard that things like photos, date of birth, and other information that would be considered unimaginable in a resume in the US are requested. Any tips on how to adapt my resume to the Hong Kong market would be appreciated.
I am also changing industries to teach English as a native speaker. Are there specifics I should include considering I am usually in sales & management?

Assuming you're qualified to teach English in the first place, beef up your CV by pointing out your sales experience & in-depth knowledge of business English. A friend who's in head hunting despairs of the long-winded CVs she gets, pages and pages of awards won in primary school etc. You do need your DoB - that's standard in many countries- but not a photo.

no one cares about your immigration status.
your cv should say you are eligible to work in hk.
where you are from should be very obvious from your cv. no need to state the obvious again.
