Hi all,
I am a 29 years old single who wants to find work in Hong Kong. I am currently living in Europe and wish to move asap, however, having a job would obviously make things easier. As my parents are originally from HK I am holder of both a European passport and a HKSAR passport.
I have 8 years of experience working for American multinationals in the Freight Forwarding / Logistics industry.
Nevertheless, I do have some questions and I was hoping you could help me:
How realistic is it to find a job living in Europe (so before I move to HK)?
I speak a bit Cantonese but no Mandarin (I enrolled in a course though) and cannot write/read Chinese, obviously I am fluent in English but I also speak fluent French. Will the fact that I cannot read/write Chinese be a big hurdle? Most jobs I found on hkcareertimes all require both Cantonese and Mandarin?
All vacancies require you mentioning your current and desirable salary, which is very unusual in Europe and as I have not a good picture of what my "marketvalue" is I find it difficult to put a desirable salary. Will my application be considered without this info?
I really really appreciate any feedback I can get.
Many thanks!!

I think you need to be here to enhance your chances, and if they want to know your salary expectations, just be honest and say you're not currently in the local market so you're unsure, and give a wide range - better than ignoring the question!
