URGENT VISA HELP!!

I am being moved from the UK to HK for my company in the next 6 weeks and they are currently putting my VISA application through. I have a good school education and work experience but never finished my degree which l never told my employer. The University gave me a certificate by mistake although it just states l completed the necessary level to pass but have no award. I didnt give that for them to send instead saying l am waiting for my full certificate hoping it would go through. The VISA in HK people have asked for me to update my passport as it has less than 12 months on it and also proof of my education. If l send them the degree is it likely they will contact the University for confirmation?

I am obviously worried they will call my University and be told l never finished , decline it and then tell my employer. My boss wants to send me to HK without the VISA as he is sure l'll get it but as far as he knows l have a full degree.

Do you know how common it is for them to call your school/university etc?

Any help is so appreciated!

Firstly, the reason you need to update your passport is because they can't issue a visa for a period longer than your passport is valid, so you can't get a 12-month visa chop on a passport that will expire in less than 12 months.

Secondly, send them whatever educational proof you have. No one is going to ring up your school/uni to check.

When my husband relocated to HK from Oz bout 10y ago he wasn't asked for his uni certificates etc until he got to HK. As nobody had told him they were needed he couldn't provide them (they were by then in storage in Oz). Wasn't a problem in the end.

Kenwin is correct, starhkg is scarmongering. Immigration have never to my knowledge asked for proof of education for a company transfer. They are extremely unlikely to contact you university. The only time the employer would deem it critical would be if you were practicing as a qualified professional in public service, lawyer, doctor, accountant etc.
