Hi, I have been offered a new job. My new employees want me to start work in 1 months time but I have to give 3 months notice on my current contract.
I dont want to give this opportunity up and I am going to sign with my new company and start in a month.
My questions are:
1. What can my company do to me if I do this?
2. Can I give a one month notice if it states I have to give 3? a friend told me that in HK law 1 months notice is sufficient.
3. I work for a small company, are they likely to take legal action against me?
4. Can I buy my way out of the remaining 2 months of my contract?
Thanks

You can bargain with your new company to buy your way out to your old company if they're really need you. or you have to pay for yourself the remaining 2 months, but definitely they will allow u to leave when u resign.
