Just curious to know if doing online work that is paid into a UK bank account by a UK firm would be considered "working" while on a tourist visa. Technically, the work can be done from anywhere and have customers from all over.
I try to spend a lot of time in HK as to be with my BF and friends and usually get money from the small business I run in the UK. I'm a clubnight promoter, the clubnight more or less runs itself now, and I have someone to supervise the operation onsite, who takes a cut and I get the profit put into my account. I seldom need to be there in person and return every 2 or 3 months to deal with whatever problems may arrise, if all's ok.
I recently saw some possible casual online work that could add a few £ to my income and just curious if taking up such work would be seen as "working in HK", which would be illigal in my position as a visitor.

if the online work is not from Hong Kong then no you are not technically working in Hong Kong as there is no transaction taken place in Hong Kong. The way I see it as you are "working while on holidays"
