HK Permanent Residency query

Hi!

I was wondering if someone can advise on whether I'm eligible to apply for an HK PR based on the following:-

I used to work for an IT Consultant company and hence I held an HK work visa along with a UK visa starting from Oct 2007 but I simply entered HK in Oct 2007 and then worked in the UK (London) until July 2008. in July 2008, I joined another company based in Hong Kong and since then, I have been working and living in Hong Kong. Excluding the 2007 visa, I have been in Hong Kong for 6 years but I have had a valid working visa for HK for 7 years (even though I didn't really work or live in HK in the first year).

Am I eligible to apply and get a PR or do I need to wait another year before applying?

Any advise is very much appreciated :-)

Thanks!

Unfortunately its a 7 year stay rule no matter how long you've had a valid visa. You have to living in HK when applying too.

@ Ravi, if you can explain your absence from HK then it should be all good...
