MPF issue - self employed

Hi

I have my own company in Hong Kong and have been paying myself a salary from the company.

I did not realize that I need to enroll myself in a MPF scheme but understand now that I need to do so.

Would it be better to just write on the MPF enrollment form that I just got employed by my company? Does the MPF authority actually check with the tax department about length of employment? It is not like I am going to complain to the MPF authority that my employer has not been paying my MPF contributions since it is my own company so in these cases it is better to just enroll and be done with it?

Thank you for your advice.

Lots of other people have been in your situation.

Just enroll yourself on the MPF as if you've just joined the company and be done with it as you say. The MPFA doesn't cross-check with the tax department.
