Can a non permanent hk resident get a job in hk without work visa?

I want to work in hk but im not a permanent resident yet and I dont have a work visa. Ive been searching the net but I see next to nothing about non permanent resident work info. Is it possible to get a job without a work visa as a non perm resident?

By not perm resident, do you mean you are on a dependents visa? if so, yes you may work in Hong Kong & do not require to apply for a work visa separately.

Hm to be honest im not quite sure. Im already 21 so im most likely not on a dependent visa but my mother is a permanent resident. I dont have to extend my stay in hk either and im a hkid holder. She insists that im a resident but im not sure what that entails exactly? Is there a middle between dependents and permanents that I cant find anywhere on the net?

I don't think that your mother's status as a permanent resident will entitle you to work without a sponsored work visa.
