Work Visa for a non local company's project

My name is Adeel Khan and I am a Pakistani Citizen (currently present in Pakistan). I work for a New Zealand based company.


My company is implementing a Billing System for a local Hong Kong company. the project is already in place and my company requires me to work onsite (i.e. to stay for a duration of 1 year in Hong Kong from next month) to work on this project. I will still be on payroll of my company who will be bearing all my expenses during my stay in Hong Kong including accommodation.


I can get all the supporting documents from my company as well the customer (Hong kong based company), however I am unsure which visa category would be applicable to me?


this is just the case with me, as all the other team members are usually British or other nationalities and they can stay for upto 6 months without visa in Hong Kong. I have searched on the immigration website but cant find any thing applicable to me.


I would be really thankfull if any one can you please guide me on which Visa Category should I apply to? i am afraid that time is running out fast and i will miss this oppurtunity..

I would think that you will need a Work Visa. If your Kiwi employer doesn't have a local presence, you may need to coordinate with the local company you're dealing with to help you apply for that visa.

also your British friends can come and stay here for 6 months but they cannot "work" on that visa,


they also need a proper employment visa to be able to legally work.

thanks for the response guys. i have been in touch with my employer and we have decided to move forward with the process... though we are likely to take help of some local visa consultant who can do the stuff on our behalf and importantly, quickly!

let me know if there is some local visa consultant who is know for expertise in cases similar to mine.... much appreciated!!
