Can anyone provide any advice for teaching English in HK? What is the pay like and more importantly, what qualifications are needed (I have researched a little and see that there are whole host of qualifications one can take - e.g. the ICAL TEFL cert, CELTA, TRINITY - confused as to what is what and whatis good/necessary). I am considering a serious career change for family reasons. I am Chinese and am a native speaker of both English and Cantonese l. Am a masters degree holder. No teaching experience, (but many years of solid non teaching experience and a solid, very reputable career).
Any other careeer change ideas (utilizing my English skills) welcome. Any idea how to get a part time job doing the English sub titles for Chinese movies/programmes - I find that the tranlation of the Cantonese to English sub titles extreamely poor.

hi~ You can check the "Hong Kong Jobs" in the left column of this website, there are some positions relating to native English speakers, and i see they just said the applicants should be the native English speaker, i suggest you can have a look.
I am a Chinese too, but I am not a native English speaker. I am finding some ways to work with the native English speakers, so that I can practice my English, and can have some culture exchange. that's why i'm here~
