Hi,
What's the procedure if someone wants to transfer their work visa?

Don't know if there's such a thing...you might think of it like you're getting a new work visa sponsored by a new employer instead of transferring your current visa (sponsored by current employer) to be sponsored by a new one.
I would think you just have to ask your new/prospective employer to apply for a work visa in your behalf. Once that is approved, you should be able to work for your new employer. What happens to the old work visa though? I would guess it will be "cancelled" by immigration.
Would like to know how it really works, please share your experience once complete...

I just went through this process in January/February.
1. You and your new employer submit a new work visa application. When submitting that application, it is generally best to have a signed and stamped letter from your current employer (the one sponsoring your visa) stating that you have terminated your position, and that your last date of employment is X.
2. Your sponsorship will be processed and transferred between 2-8 weeks. I've found that the transfer will be processed either by the date that your former employer states that your termination day or by the the date that your new employer states that they would like you to begin work. You may wish to negotiate that with your new employer so that the transfer can go through ASAP.
best,
a

If you have a signed and stamped letter from your current employer stating that you have terminated your position then what happens if you don't get approved for the new visa? Do you automatically lose the visa that you had? Can you return to the same employer who didn't want you to leave in the first place and says you can come back anytime?
