Helper - Schengen Visa to Spain

I am taking a consensus to see if anyone else has experience this when they are applying for a Schengen Visa to Spain for their helper.
We brought in all the documents and application (which by the way have any issues applying for tourist visa for helper as understand France has its own set of rules but wonder if Spain is also tougher?). Have any of you been asked about whether the helper has to bring in their bank statement? and not of the employers?
