Working contract termination issues

Hello everyone!

I am struggling with my employer & would need a good (but not too expensive) lawyer to consult the termination with.

Situation:
I have a non-competition clause in my contract (1 year, I should not be allowed to go to any competitor's company - there are not many in our field). I was in discussion with the competitors after receiving the notice of termination from my employer who favors a separation agreement.
During discussion, I declined the competitor's offer as my employer wanted to make use of the clause. Now, when I am asking for financial compensation for this clause, my company tells me it is anyway not enforcable/ it is invalid. We can bet, a company with so many lawyers knew it since compiling the working contract.

Anybody knows a specialist for that (please, not for 8000K+ / hour of consultation - the offers so far).

Thanks

You ought to check with the Labour Dept., they may give you the real truth of the matter. They cannot force your employer to make good on the contract, but they should be able to tell you if the clause is valid or not. Then you can go to a lawyer for a compensation case knowing you actually have a case. Good luck
