My 12-year old needs braces, can anyone recommend a very good dentist, who won't charge an arm and a leg.

Hi there,
I would recommend you to try to book an appointment with Dr. Ma Tsun. He works in Jardine House in Central and Repulse Bay Hotel. However, it takes quite a while to book the first consultation.
Here are his numbers:
central: 2526 1061
repulse bay: 2812 2358

we have just come out of seeing Dr Louisa Wong ,she was brillant with kids. Shes from uk, really easy going. You can tell from the waiting room shes popular where another 2-3 kids were waiting to see her, Normally we see her husband Dr Raymond lee for dental work but our daughter needed braces and we heard Dr lousia sees a lot of children at my daughters sch, they are at pacific dental care in central25216632

Sometimes its good to get a second opinion. From my experience, different training backgrounds have different approaches. The UK approach and USA approach can be very different.

I would highly recommand my dentist Dr.Cheong.He is a very good one, in terms of knowledge, technique and service. However, very economic price they charge. They welcome patients to enquire the charges beforehand. Dr. Cheong removed wisdom teeth only charged me $1200 with check up and x-ray etc. Teeth cleaning only charge $220.
here is his #3514-6252. Dr. Cheong Yun Lung--dental surgeon. and the address is Shop 107,Hoi Lai Shopping Centre, Hoi Lai Estate, Sham Shui Po,Kowloon, Hong Kong. Last time i saw him was half years ago,I think he is still at that location.

I am looking for an orthodontist that doesn't cost the earth as single mum with no coverage. My nine year old needs braces asap. Please advise as to reputable but reasonable one.
Thanks
(I am based in HK)

A low cost place to go is the Prince Philip Dental Hospital but they may need a referral letter from a general dentist. The website is www.ppdh.org.hk
However, their appointment time is not flexible and you may have to take your child out of school for appointments. They don't open on Saturdays.
Hopw this helps.

Agree with hongkongunderdog. My daughter and I are both private patients at PPDH and I must say the treatment is top notch and I feel you get proper care and advice as opposed to what will make the dentist's business the most money :-)
