Can anyone tell me their experiences of dealing with a chinese quigong sifu?

My girlfriend went to one, he told her he can see pre-cancer in her body and she has now to eat a very lean and healthy diet. Also he is treating her twice a week by pointing at the point with his hands and focusing himself the point.

She has been told to follow the groups methods, they dont allow the crossing of legs so she has to stop this.
I feel that it's very controlling and influencing on her - that may
not be a bad thing but it has changed her in the past 3 weeks since she
started going.

The sifu manipulated her body to
fix a back problem and i found it was so violent, she was crying during
the treatment and i could not sleep properly for two nights after i
witnessed this. Really it honestly disturbed me. After the treatment she was good and said she felt much better so i could be completley wrong to think bad of this guy.

Many people go to this guy, they all really believe in his power - is this sort of thing common and normal in HK? He doesnt take money, though people do give lycee to the group.

Its not my culture and im scared this could be a form of "cult". I'm not looking for opinions, i want to hear from people who have really had experience with this so i can understand whether I should be afraid or not.

As i say, i dont need any crazy opinions; would really appreciate hearing from someone who knows about this sort of thing to settle my mind. Right now i feel so helpless, whatever i say she says I am a bigot. Honestly what i saw was so shocking to me i cannot stop thinking about it, i can still hear her crying in my mind now.

I understand this could be illegal, I dont care about the legalities only i want to feel happier about what i saw.

sounds pretty straight forward for a Sifu so far. I presume that the "violent back problem treatment" was 'bonesetting'. you can see multiple videos on youtube that show it

qi gong is by definition about qi (i.e. 'energy') so setting of hands, etc is quite normal. i would probably be slightly more concerned about the pre-cancer warning. while it might not be wrong (chinese medicine - which has origins in the same roots as qi gong - has long known what factors contribute to cancer), i would probably send her to a TCM professional for checking. i know the guys at Oriental Health and apart from TCM practitioners they also have a Sifu for Qi Gong.
