I am 34 years old, with wife and 2 young children.
I was told IHI and Nordic both offer very good health insurance plans. Can someone advice me which one is better? Or if there is another good plan out there?
Thanks.

Depends on what you're looking for as to which is better. Are you looking for the most comprehensive, highest limits, best value for money, or what?
If it's hospital cover are you wanting private, semi-private or ward?
Price will also depend if you're a smoker or not.
It's a bit like asking if a Mercedes or BMW is better. It depends on what you're looking for and the value you place on different things.

I agree with Chris.
In general, Nordic is more expensive, but that is partly because of their commitment to not raise prices. They price you in your entry adult 'age band' for life. Since that's in increments of 5 years, 34 is actually a pretty good age to join! Inflation is also pretty modest.
Both Nordic and IHI are fairly good on cover and claims, but again it depends on what you're looking for. IHI's new plan, Worldwide Options, doesn't seem to be too popular though as people find it confusing..

Thanks for the replies.
I am looking for the most comprehensive, all inclusive coverage, including private room hospital cover, but of course it should be best value for money. I am not a smoker.
Funnily enough, the Nordic quote I got is quite a bit cheaper than IHI's ISM (International Swiss Medical) plan.
But Nordic doesn't cover US medical facilities unless one pays 30% premium (actually, is that even necessary?!) whereas IHI is all inclusive.
The other consideration I have is that I know IHI, but don't know much about Nordic. Is Nordic's track record sound?

Medical costs in North America are significantly higher than the rest of the world. That must be why Nordic is cheaper, because IHI factors that cost in.
Nordic has been around since the 1920s or 1930s, but they used to have a Danish name. Also, they're relatively new to the Hong Kong market.
I suggest you contact Northern Lights (the local admin office) for more information. The number is 28 517 517.
