Zits persistently growing on the face

I've been having an annoying time with zits growing on the face. The zits have been growing persistently on both sides of the face and areas around the ears for more than a month already, I really can't deal with the situation anymore. My dermatologist gave me some meds but I feel really sleepy after taking them, that's why I want to look for other treatments. And I don't think it's the beauty products because I changed them to anti-allergy products already. Can anyone please share some good advice?

sounds like had some change in your lifestyle or environment and now have a hot & humid or heavy & humid body constitution. short term probably only some strong meds will help, long term i think you need to balance your body constitution.

i had the same before and over time and by daily drinking of mild herbal teas, it got a bit better at least

did the situation get worse when you a exposed to sunshine? if so, it may be "rosacea" instead of trad acne...

The redness in rosacea, often aggravated by flushing, may cause small blood vessels in the face to enlarge and become more visible through the skin, appearing like tiny red lines...

If on the sides of your face, could be several causes:

1. Bacteria from your pillow - change your pillowcase nightly.

2. New hair products and you have an allergic reaction or they are clogging your pores. Always fully rinse out your hair products before washing your face.

3. Detergent causing breakouts - change to baby clothes detergent.

4. No real such thing as anti-allergy products - my family ha svery sensitive skin and many such products can cause severe rashes or breakouts. Eliminate products one at a time and see if your skin improves. Takes a few weeks before skin recovers.

Try not to touch your face and keep the hair off your face.

Personally, I would not take oral medications unless I had severe uncontrollable acne and your case doesn not sound like that. Oral medications can cause imbalances in other parts of your body. Good luck!

Forgot to mention, if you really have zits and not clogged pores or allergic reactions from the items I listed earlier, then for acne try these products:

1. Tretinoin - Start at 0.01% or .025% cream

2. Skinoren

Start slow, use very little and on completely dry skin. Google these products and you will find many tutorials on how to use them.

My friend has visited a chi medical doctor last year to treat her rosacea symptoms since she cant stand anymore.

She consulted Dr. Veronica Hoi, and she offered a skin treatment for my friend.

At that time, she has to take the med once a day and visit the doctor once a week in order to alleviate the symptoms.

The treatment result was quite prominent and she was impressed by her patience and detailed explanation to the situation.

I think you can check out her details from google,

Her clinic is in Central, neighbor to the Des Voeux Road C. entrance of The Centre.

Hope it helps~

Cheers

I was going to suggest TCM - facial acupuncture may help. I know Dr Helen He in Central specialises in hormone problems too - she does facial acupuncture. It would be worth consulting about.
