My brother will visit over Christmas and has a slightly receding hairline and wants to fill it in (he has halted further recession with propecia).
He is considering a trip to Bangkok to have a single follicular hair transplant.
Can someone recommend the best doctor for this?
Also has anyone had this done or know of anyone who has? Does the final product look natural?
Is this done under local or general anasthesea? Is it an outpatient procedure or do you need to stay in for a number of days?
Advice appreciated.

Hello Innocence,
Just read your posting....i'm male, 62 and balding for last 20 yrs. Hair transplants have vastly improved over the years and i decided to go for it. I researched and found a well known doctor in Bangkok, Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich. Website: http://www.dhthairclinic.com/about_us.php
Although I had researched and read many testimonials about the Stough Clinic and anticipated a positive experience --- my expectations were exceeded by the high level of professionalism, courtesy, personal care and medical expertise demonstrated by all staff. The procedure lasted 11+hrs, transplanting an incredible 3800 grafts…… however, everyone remained focused and diligent in their duties to ensure a successful outcome. Personal discomfort was minimal and time passed very quickly. Overall, the transplantation was an amazing and unexpected experience.
The strategic placement of the extracted transplants really maximized coverage. Although the number could not cover all balding areas, he strategically placed hairs to give me the best appearance. Best my hair has looked in 20 yrs.
It takes about a year to realize the full growth potential, but i began looking very good in 4 months and better every month thereafter. Now one year on, it looks fantastic! I decided to go back this month Sept 2010 for another round of transplants. The extracts should be more as I have had more time to stretch my scalp which can increase the number of transplants extracted. This procedure will fill in the sparse areas and increase denser areas.
Good luck and reverse your look!

Hello again,
Just returned from my second transplant in Bangkok and again with amazing results! This time Dr. Path was able to extract approx 2700 grafts. He strategically placed about 20% to thicken the existing areas, with about 80% applied to the crown area to adequately fill in the gaps.
Really looking forward to the growth as i have basically doubled the density which already looked great!
Although they recommend you use Johnson Baby Shampoo after the procedure and it works fine....there is a specially formulated post-transplant shampoo that contains all the ingredients necessary to promote growth and repair. The name: GraftCyte and can be found on line. A local Hong Kong hair transplant doctor stocks and sells it for HK$200 and well worth the investment.
Although the gentleman from VietNam provided an excellent overview of the hair transplant procedure ---- If anyone has questions about hair transplant or about my incredible Dr. Path in Bangkok, please feel free to contact me at globalinsight@gmail.com.
Much success and happiness with you new look!

I went for my hair cut as usual and my regular stylist confirmed that I am losing hair rapidly, especially the front and the two front side portions. The top and back portion of my hair are still quite okay. I am determined to gain back my hair and don't mind an hair transplant procedure but is it expensive? Can my hair could be grow back without a hair transplant procedure?. I really need advice. Thanks:)
I am sending my inquiries to http://www.hairandlaserclinic.com and i am just waiting for the reply. i am not comfortable losing my hair and people keep mentioning it especially my friends. Not cool.
