I’m planning to get pregnant this year, but I don’t have health insurance.
I’ve heard that I may spend around $100,000 in doctor visits, labor, etc. Is that true?
Where I could go for a satisfactory and safe medical assistance?

No. My wife gave birth in Queen Mary hospital, and we paid $350. C/S as well.
If you want to go private, the O&G doctors often have a combined rate for delivery. Excluding emergencies, but there are packages which will cover that too. Expect 30-40,000 for that. You always go private for antenatal care, and public for the delivery.
What you need to do is speak with your doctor for best advice.

Thanks for your replies guys.
But I’m new in this pregnancy thing, what do you mean with C/S?
I also don't have a doctor here. Any recommendation?
Cheers

As long as you are holding HKID no matter what status of visa you are,you can have the priveledge in going to government Hospitals.I gave birth with my two children in QMH both of them was not in a full term and need to stay longer in special care,we paid not so much.C/S means Ceasarian Section.

Yes, this is true ($70-$100,000). However, if you have an HKID card it's free at Tsan Yuk Hospital (Tel. 2589 2100). You need a General Practioner referral.
