Can someone recommend the best treatment for eczema?

Eczema is usually caused by some type of allergy, the best way to prevent it worsening, is by using non scented soaps(ie baby soap),avoid perfumes or any irritants on the skin. Always wash and rinse the skin well, and use a moisturiser like Oilatum (available in Pharmasies) in the bath water, and keep the skin moist by using Dermo friendly moisturisers, with a natural ph. When drying after washing/bathing, don't rub the skin, gently 'pat' it dry.
Use gloves (try to avoid latex as many people have a reaction to latex) when handling anything which may cause skin irritation.
When washing clothes use a non- Bio washing powder, avoid conditioners in the washing process.
Wearing pure soft cotton next to the skin is best, some people are allergic to wools.
In milder forms of eczema the above may help or even stop it altogether, but if it persists then ask you GP to refer you to a Skin Specialist.

u can go for an allergy test to profile your diet if the problem persists. one of my frd had really really serious eczema since his teenage. he went for a blood test like this one day, and so surprised to found out he was allergic to gluten, which is not the seafood that he has avoided for years...

forgot to mention, my frd did his test at hkbiotek's centre at fortress hill. their number is 2763 1488. do let me know if you want to take this test, i can ask my frd to refer you, and you can get a 10% off on test fee.

Sudocreme works really well. Its actually for baby nappy rash, and other skin irritations , but helps Eczema too. No point going to a doctor unless its a very serious case, as they will charge you 500 bucks for a tiny pot of something that you can easily get over the counter at any pharmacy.
Tradiitional antiseptic creams works well too, like dettol cream, Himlayan cream etc
One of the most important things to get right is clean towels , always dry yourself properly etc
good luck

I had mild eczema and it cleared up completely after applying steroid cream regularly - theh cream was prescribed by my doctor.
I have a friend with very severe eczema and she found that using the products from Kiehl's range with argan oil really made a big difference. There's a Kiehl's in The Landmark and they're usually good at giving free samples if you ask nicely.

West and East...
Try both western and chinese medicines.
Dermatologist - Dr Lau Lai Yin, Frederick (at Jordon)
Chinese doctor - Dr Guo (forgot his full name, but you can find him at Baptist University's T.S.T. Chinese clinic)
Both of them are good because they reallly care and deal with the issues in a professional way (ie no unnecessary treatments etc).
The dermatoglistic was referred to me by my trusted orthopedic doctor. I am treading eczema there as well.
