Women's Clinic- Dr. Christine Choi

Does anyone know if Christine Choi is good from CENTRAL's Women's clinic? I heard she's pretty young... worried about her experience.

I want a good ob/gyn for pregnancy planning, and delivery and all the follow ups.

I know there are two male doctors in the clinic that are very reputable, however, I am more comfortable with female doctor in this area.

Thanks for any info.

Hi Perthites,

It's actually Christine Choy... correct her spelling after I saw her the other day. Just a quick question, have you had a baby delivered by her? Is she experienced enough? My concern is how young she is ! I checked her qualifications... she's registered as a practitioner since 2003.

Thanks for your info.

Hi,

Well I saw Dr Sonia Lee last week and was not impressed at all, she did not put my mind at ease over some questions I had. Wouldn't recommend her.

Doctor Choy is the best female obstetrician/gynaecologist in Central. Impressive qualifications (FHKCOG and FHKAM) and clinical tutor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is in demand and does lots of operations - she seems to have surgical rights in all the major hospitals in HK so don't worry on the experience front! She also understands women's medical issues in a way that only a woman can. If you are looking for a female ob/gyn look no further. Go and see her at least for an initial visit...

Dr sonia Lee is nice but don't ask her to deliver your baby. I had my first baby delivered by her and it has been a traumatic, horrible, and so painful delivery. I asked for an epidural but she stopped it ( I do not know why) 45 minutes before the delivery. I had so much pain that I thought I would die, I did't want my baby anymore and I had nightmare for 6 months after. She used to work in public hospitals for a long time and cannot understand the pain a woman can have during a delivery.

It cost $700HK. She will spend pleanty of time with you though. She will also quite happily go thru the costs of everything else with you. If you are worried about the cost tell her and she will try to work with you. She really is very nice, she does speak quickly so we always confirm with her what we think she's just told us.If you want to know anything more let me know as i am currently seeing her and have been for some time.

yes that's right it's $700. It's $700 well spent though because of the time she spends with you. She is very caring and will explain everything to you.
