Hi Macobee,

I hear you, medical insurance can be a pain in the ass. I recently bought health insurance from William Russell, paid about $3000 for 2 adults and 1 kid. So far I found it pretty good, it covers all the medical bill from local or private hospital. Up to 1 million dollars. For most foreign owned clinics they also do direct billing.

Two questions:


okay your insurance coverage allow you to stay in private hospital. What is the restriction on what class of room that you can check-in?


The One Million is in US or HKG currency? What about per operation limit?

I got AXA too ... and it wasn't my choice either.. I'm not very happy with the list of clinics. I'm going to an out-patient clinic at a private hospital tomorrow and need to see an ophthamologist ... it's gonna be very expensive and AXA only covers half of what the consulation fee's gonna be..

Whatever you do, dont do Public health. You will wait forever & the treatment wont be right necessarily. I just dont trust Government healthcare in HKG, sorry.....
