Presuming that you have done your research on varicose veins the do's and don'ts helped me control mine until I got pregnant. Medications are banned during pregnancy so I am off homeopathy which helps to a certain extent. But definitely try to get your hands on witch hazel or horse chestnut cream. I could'nt find it but have heard it works miraculously. If you find it do let me know where you got it from. I have tried most of the pharmacies.

Varicose veins occur when the valves in the veins fail. Normally as you walk or run the blood is moved up from compartment to compartment like a boat going up a series of locks. The blood cannot run back as the valves are one-way and do not allow back flow. When the valves fail the blood pools in the veins and cause them to swell. If they are small they can be injected, this effectivly clots them up and the blood finds other ways back to thr heart through the DEEP veins. If they are too big to inject removal is best. Support hose and locally applied medications can help a little but cannot remake the valves.
