Can anyone explain to me what medical is covered if you hold a hong kong id card? I've heard that basic medical is covered is this true? this may be a dumb question so please forgive my ignorance on this topic.

Not quite sure what you are asking here, however if you are a HK ID holder you are entitled to free treatment in the public hospital system.
