Hi All,
I'm a 29 year old who has recently moved to HK from Canada (born in Canada but of Indian Origin). I have a serious auto-immune disease and as such have been turned down by a couple of the major int'l health insurance companies. I basically wanted to find out if I have ny options that are likely to insure me. As it stands currently I do visit the doctor exvery two months, for blood tests.
Any help would be greatly apprecated.
Thanks,
Ravi

They just turned you down and offered no cover at all? what is insurance for then? what about life insurance or a critical illness policy, do you have these?

Basically insurance companies do not like paying claims. One of the way tha they protectthemselves is by not coveringany conditions thatexisted on the day that the policy was issued. This is particularly difficult for you who have a lifetime condition.Again this is worse ifyou are takng an individual policy. Ifa companytakes apolicywitha insurance carrier thay oftecn insist that they accept ALL employees with ALL conditions.

I know that different insurance company have different underwriting requirement. Maybe you should try and submit application to different company. You have nothing to lose.

I understand that group plans cover pre-existing conditions. If several people with the same scenario described above got together, can an insurance broker create a group plan for these individuals?
