Hi all, Im a Dispensing Optician, & can perhaps offer some advice..

A lot does depend on the type of CL you use..i.e, 2 weekly , monthly disposable etc.

Daily disposable is the safest, obviously, as there is no cleaning regime needed.

Some people build up protein deposits more quickly than others, but separate protein removers became almost obsolete thanks to the frequent replacement lenses becoming popular.

B&L is excellent, but have to say Optifree is , in my opinion a bit more thorough..

VERY important is the case too..please remember to clean these regularly.

If anyone needs clarification, be sure & contact the lens presciber, or if that is not poss, let me know & will try & help.

sorry...should add that it is not a good plan to change brands without checking with the presciber first!

They all do a similar job, but they do have slightly differing ingredients, & some work better with some CL than others, so please dont swap brands, just cos one is cheaper, or a friend uses it etc..

It may not be suitable for you or your lenses!

use one dayers instead.. no need for a solution.

have you not heard recently about the RECALL of the Bausch and Laumb multi purpose solution for contacts? I have been using this brand for 16 years.... shocking to hear. So, I had to change to Complete last week when it was all over the news!

They are still investigating the B&L solution b/c they think it caused eye infection and cornea problems for over 20 users. Nothing reported back yet, but the product is off the shelves in HK right now.
