I am in need of a dermatologist for a toddler with eczema. I wish to find alternatives to cortizone cream and reasons to the problem. Any suggestions and recommendations welcome.

I was looking for a pediatric dermatologist for my son a few years ago (different problem) and was told by my pediatrician that this area of specialty wasn't available in HK. She recommended I go to Dr Ellis Hon at Prince of Wales as a private patient as he was a pediatrician with an interest in dermatology.

Try Dr. Helen Chan

Rm 1602A Central Building

No. 1 Pedder Street,

Central, HK

+852-2522 2302

She helped me with my son who used to suffer with eczema. We found out it was all about allergies from certain food and his skin has been clear since.

And no steroids/cortizone. Just natural oil based creams.

I suggest you to try traditional chinese medicine(TCM). I have a fried (a male adult) who has suffered eczema for more than 6 years - cured by TCM at around 10 treatments. The doctor's web site is www.health2joy.com

My son had really bad eczema. I too did not want to use steroid creams. I saw a naturopath (Dr. Yuan at Optimum Health Center). He recommended some natural approaches and I too did my own research and implemented a few things on my own. The following is the comprehensive treatment plan we used for my son which has conquered his initially horrible eczema by 95% : adding omega oils (flax and borage oil) to my son's diet, providing a probiotic supplement, cutting out all dairy, frequently applying non-steroid creams, using hypoallergenic clothing detergent to launder his clothes, switching to all natural cleaning products, using soap and fragrance free product to bathe him, changing his bed sheets often.
