Bloated Stomach

ORIGINAL POST

I consistently have bloated stomach. I am in my thirties. I don't smoke. I hardly eat or drink food that cause it. I do simple sit-ups everyday. Nothing seems to work! Sometimes it gets so bad that I have problem passing my urine!

Are there any over-the-counter strong and effective medication that I can buy without any prescription?

Which doctors specialize in this area? Gastroenterologist??

1. You have a problem for which the cause is unknown, and you want a recommendation for medication without knowing what it is you will be treating? Better to:

2. Go to see the doctor who can resolve your questions of a) what is it and b) what can I do about it.

Gastroenterologist would be a good idea, but I think a good GP is the best first stop. It could be a symptom of intestinal candidiasis, and no gastroenterologist would make that diagnosis.

You may want to have a go for Acupuncture. It works for internal problems like with stomach. A recommendation will be Quality Chinese Medical Centre. You can check out their web site

A handful of M&Ms will cure it.

I'm kidding of course. But if you care about your health, do as docboat (FYI who is a real doctor) says and get yourself off to your GP asap.

A bloke I know of waited six days before seeing a doctor for a lack of urination. Now he receiving lots of regular treatment - kidney dialysis three times a week till he can get a transplant.

Thanks JoeCheung!

I am told that I may be allergic to wheat and gluten ( I munch on cereals on every other day ). Also, I am anemic and I do have water retention problem. I would feel very bloated the night before, but after 2-3 visits to the bathroom, I would feel very much lighter.

If you think you have food sensitivities and/or allergies perhaps you should get that checked and confirmed in the first instance. It's possible to do that yourself, e.g. keeping a diary of what you eat and how you feel throughout the day every day, paying particular attention maybe to the effects of bread and biscuits, or exclusion of.
