Anyone know any good after acne cream? I have been seeing a doctor but it cost about $450 for 3 days medication.I have to keep going back for more medication/cream. The doc would only give you a medication for few days and ask you to come back.( i think this is a good way for them to earn) Is exp to do this way. Or is there any other way which is cost effective. Many thanks.

Are you looking for a topical medication to control the acne flare up OR something to heal the open wound as well as helping the marks/pigment to fade away?

If you want to have the open wound healed and the marks/pigment to fade away, try Doan's ointment. I find this an absolutely wonderful ointment which I have used for many many many years. It's also very cheap, selling at the dispensary anywhere from HK$11 to 15 only.
I'm no doctor but the main composition is zinc oxide (25%) which is very safe. I use this ointment to treat any open wounds, make it heal and help the marks/pigment to fade away. Put a thick layer (almost as if you're doing a facial mask) and use it continuously for 7-10 days (or more if necessary) after the wound is healed. Use it overnight or whenever you stay at home. After using it overnight, wipe the ointment away with a piece of facial tissue paper. Then you'll find that the dead skin is being removed nicely. You'll find that the pigments will become much lighter within a much faster period. I used it even on my baby when she was a few months old (the doctor at Queen Mary prescribed another zinc oxide cream but this Doan's ointment is much thicker so I find it more effective).
Since this ointment (white in colour) is very thick, put a towel on top of your pillow so that it won't stain your pillow case. Alternatively, you can put plaster over the covered area of your face.
I find this ointment is safe enough for me to recommend here since I have used it for a long time and there has not been any problem with it. But of course, if you have any doubt, consult your medical doctor.
Oh, by the way, if it's for mild acne flare up, try putting a little bit of toothpaste (any brand, but I find that the white one is more effective) on the acne. Putting too much will really dry up the skin. This method is being recommended by some well-known make-up artists.
Good luck! Let me know how it works for you.

Diagnosis of the cause should be the answer to your drug selection. There are 4 underlying causes of acne. Next time you see the doctor, make sure you ask to see the cause of it, then can you select the appropriate medication.
