Medical Insurance

My in-laws are visiting us in HK and would probably be with us for at least 2 weeks. My father-in-law is a sickly man (has just undergone radiation for his prostate cancer). I'm afraid that while in HK he would suddenly be rushed to the hospital when one of his illnesses attacks. Now we know how hospital charges here and I could not possibly take him to a government hospital and avail of the privileges since he is not a resident. Is there a medical insurance I can purchase for him that will cover him for the duration of his stay here? Something reliable and will not give me difficulty claiming from?

Thanks Andrew,

My father-in-law is actually an immigrant of Canada and is covered by a medical insurance called OHIP (or OHEP). I have yet to inquire if this insurance actually covers them while on travel (would you have an idea?) and how is the claim procedure.

Grateful if you can supply me more info on the Medical/Travel Insurance you mentioned.

Thanks again.

To Andrew: Could you also advise us on the medical/travel insurance covering the pre-existing conditions? My husband has a heart condition and we are looking for a travel insurance policy covering his pre-existing condition. Thanks for help.
