Hi, I've been going to a physiotherapist in TST for about 3 weeks. I've got a neck problem I'd like treated. The problem is the physio does approximately 2 minutes of manual/physical work on my neck then attaches me to a series of machines for the rest of the time, which just aren't helping. Is this the usual practice?
Can anyone recommend a good manual physio who will really get down to the problem?
Thanks

Are you familiar with manipulative physio. I have posted on here about this before. MPs go beyond what ordinary physios do - which is basically to follow what a doctor has ordered, a doctor with little knowledge of the crux of the problem. MPs do a post-grad qualification can actually make diagnoses. Sometimes machines are needed, such as to stimulate circulation, vital for healing of soft tissue injuries but the basic tools of an MP is his or her hands. Because the MP gets right into the soft tissue, it can hurt while the treatment is going on but it stops when the MP stops.
There are several MP in Hong Kong. The guy which I see off and on for various problems was recommended by a friend who was recommended by her Australian GP - Australia is where MP started - and was the first MP to practise in HK. He is originally from HK but was trained in Australia and speaks excellent English.
