Could it be due to the pungent spices in the food & rushing to work without a shower?

I suspect so, as I have 2 reporting to me who reeks of BO, "fried oil/spices" and drives all crazy, but nobody want say anything and offend them.

I had a private chat with each, saying they may be unaware but in meetings, the "spices, fried oil, BO" is over-powering. Diplomatically, shared that it could be coupled by various reasons - eg. weather, heavy sweating, heavy food spices, coming back from restaurant with cigarettes/food odor, under-dried clothes and it helps to have a good scrub/shower in the morning with fresh set of shirt.

The BO had reduced but not totally.

Try changing your soap. Maybe you need a germicidal one.

If you are interested in using natural ingredients to combat body odor, try making this deodorant powder yourself.

You'll need the following ingredients:

20 drops Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential Oil

20 drops Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) essential Oil

10 drops Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) essential oil

5 drops Lemon (Citrus limon) essential Oil

12 tablespoons Kaolin (China Clay)*

Directions:

Put the kaolin in a glass bowl. Mix the essential oils together in a glass bowl. Add the essential oil mixture, a drop at a time, to the kaolin, stirring constantly to prevent the clay from going lumpy. Store in an airtight dark brown glass container.

Dust the powder onto the underarm area as needed. Or dust it all over as a body powder to keep you feeling fresh and smelling nice all day.

*A very fine white clay powder with excellent absorption properties. Kaolin in powder form is used commercially for making porcelain, soap, paint and paper. Cosmetically it can be used as a base for masks and packs, particularly for oily/combination skins as it will absorb the grease from the skin. It is also great for dry skin because it is so very gentle.

Only 100% pure natural unadulterated essential oils should be used. Send me a PM if you want to know where to buy all the ingredients or I can make a big batch and spilt.

after living in india for over a year i suffer from BO as well, but actually it feels (and smells) a lot like a detoxification process, as india (and probably china too) is not the healthiest country to live in. it is certainly not hygiene-related as it stays the same even with three showers a day. as i am a homeopath i actually encourage this detoxification (with the homoeopathic remedy sulphur 30) which is essential if the surroundings are particularly bad (india has ridiculous amounts of pesticides in the food and very bad air quality in the cities - china as well, no?). nevertheless BO can, of course, pose as a problem, so what i like to do is using 'mineral deodorant sticks' that are easily available in bangkok's drugstores, because they inhibit bacteria from multiplying thus reducing the odour a lot. unfortunately they also reduce sweating altogether which is comfortable, but a suppression and that's not perfect, but it might be necessary for a job surrounding and it does not stop the whole process, it just might prolong it.

i hope this is helpful to all my fellow smellers out there... ;-)

regards, thilo

Stubborn BO might be the sign of a hidden medical problem. I'm not a doctor but I did graduate research in medicinal chemistry years and years ago. One telltale sign of low grade chronic selenium posioning is that the victim will smell garlic all over. Of course selenium poisoning is very rare, but there might be other medical reasons for stubborn BO.

If it's BO, try hibitane or similar anti-bacterial liquid soap, as used in hospitals.

B odour is caused by bacteria dying and defecating on your skin. They love to feed on the sebum or milky residue secreted from the sweat glands in the groin and armpits. men suffer more than women due to the sebum production. to get rid of maybe shave the hair in the area and fix up your diet by avoiding heavy spices and any other foods your system may be intollerent to. Liver cleanse (check heavy eyebags or dark circles) as indication. You will need nutritional advice. lots of water and vitamins, fruit and veg juices. Good luck
